After securing planning permission last year, the club is now beginning development of a 4.5 acre portion of land, adjacent to the existing pitch at Ballyloughane, to provide an additional playing field. As part of this development, Liam Mellows GAA Club will be constructing a shoreline walkway for public use across the club's facilities. On Sunday (January 25) the club will host an official ceremony at 12 noon to mark the turning of the soil, to be conducted by Seán Duggan, former Galway hurling legend and a long standing member of Liam Mellows.
